Hi! My name is Lauren Wright. I’ve been a devout Christ follower for about 3 years and have felt a call to ministry over the last year and a half. Originally, I was working in the oil and gas industry as a chemical engineer but left the corporate world to really pursue serving Jesus Christ.

Before salvation, I was living a life of sin. As a high achiever, I was a straight A student, D1 athlete, and involved in numerous honors societies and clubs. This outward appearance disguised the life I was really living, one of pride, anxiety, and lies. I found myself lying constantly to the people I cared about most so that I could run off to a world of sex, drugs, and alcohol. I had grown up in a Christian household but during my time in college, I went from a lukewarm Christian to a proclaimed atheist.

This newfound belief brought about an existential feeling to my life causing a deep depression to take me over. What was the point of living was if I was just going to die anyway? There seemed to be no purpose for me, so I let everything in my life fall apart; my grades slipped, I struggled with different eating disorders, and I pushed my family and friends away. Finally, I decided to look back into Christianity and other world religions (Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, etc.). During my search for truth, I found that every religion gave Jesus some sort of credit. In that moment, I realized that it would only make logical sense to follow Jesus. It took some time for me to leave the lifestyle I was living, but I knew that nothing mattered without Jesus.

Jesus Christ has changed my life. I can’t say that life is easy, however I now have a hope that can’t be taken away or destroyed. God’s love, grace and mercy has been showered over me and my life. I thank the Lord every day for allowing my past trials and hardships to affect my life because without those experiences, I never would have found true life or true love which can only come through Jesus Christ.

My hope for this blog is to encourage you to cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus. Along my own personal journey, I developed many different questions regarding theology, God’s character, and how to walk through this life as a believer in Jesus Christ. Through my experiences, scripture reading, and prayer, I have found answers that have helped me see who God is through a clearer lens. I pray that the Holy Spirit uses my words to help you gain biblical wisdom and a higher understanding of Jesus Christ.
